Sharing her mother's struggles with pregnancy, she bemoaned the challenges her family faced, exacerbated by her absent father. Her conversation with Salame was interrupted by the arrival of Modibbo, who exchanged pleasantries and passed along a message.

Upon returning home, Shatu found solace in her faith, quietly performing her ablutions and engaging in prayer, her commitment to religious knowledge unwavering. Mid-prayer, her mother's pained words resurfaced in her mind, reminding her of the unexplained absence of her father and the uncertainty surrounding his journey.
